WHAT? This is London
Saturday 20th June - 3pm 6pm 8:30pm

London is pavement and puddle, concrete and conflict, dream, desire, and illusion. It is lonely, lovely, intrusive, intriguing, abusing and amusing all at once. London is many things to many people with a continuous unfolding dialogue between the city and those who inhabit it. Today we ask “What is London?” as we wonder at the unique character of the London conversation and ask what makes London, London?
These films could not be set anywhere else: they are London stories and proudly belong to the city itself.

She's cheeky, playful, frank and totally lovable… just what's needed to brighten up your Saturday afternoon.

Telstar (15)  8:30pm

Picture
Director: Nick Moran. Starring: Con O'Neill, Kevin Spacey, Pam Ferris, James Corden. UK 2008. 1hr 54 mins.

Newly released to high critical acclaim, Telstar is the perfect film to celebrate the musical character of London. Nick Moran's directorial debut feature is a moving account of notorious independent music producer Joe Meek, and his tragic descent into depression and chaos. Charmingly eccentric with an outstanding cast and brilliant musical sequences, Telstar creatively captures 60's swinging London, a city so full of opportunity and talent, yet a place where the dreams and demise of so many have become tragically manifest.

With a special introduction by the film's brilliant director Nick Moran.
